CONGRATULATIONS TO 2024 CANTON CLASS A LEAGUE CHAMPION SUMMERS SPORTS!

Mission
The mission of the Canton Class A League is to offer an affordable, competitive baseball league for post high school, college and post-college players with most games played on high quality, turf fields and umpired by local professional umpires.
Program
Between Memorial Day and the start of Hall of Fame festivities, six ballclubs will play a ten-week season consisting of 20 weeknight, regular season games at mostly turfed venues including the beautiful new Thurman Munson Stadium. The season will wrap up with a playoff series to determine league champion.
History
The Canton Class A League was a staple in Stark County for decades, filled with college players, ex-minor leaguers and some of the best older talent around. Dick Snyder and Thurman Munson were just a couple of the legendary names to play in the league. - Josh Weir, The Repository July 18, 2023
Inspiration
Canton is the home of legendary Yankee Catcher Thurman Munson. Munson embodied many of the traits we hope to see in our league's players. The seven-time All-Star and team captain (first since Lou Gehrig) was known for his grit, determination and leadership. Munson was known as a "team first" player for putting his team's interests ahead of his own. Because of his approach, Thurman Munson became the undisputed heart and soul of a Yankee team that won three pennants and two World Series before his untimely death in 1979.
